2012 Calendar of Events

February 10th, 11th and 12th, 2012 (3 Day  Umpire Training Clinic

@ McAllister Park's Upper Complex

Friday Feb. 10 begin at 6:00 pm

Saturday, Feb 11 @ 8:30 till 5:00 pm

Sunday, Feb 12th @ 1:00 pm till 5:00 pm

The fee is $25.00 per person which will cover cost of materials and lunch on Saturday.

The District will host an Umpire Clinic open to ALL San Antonio District 19 Little League.  The clinic will include classroom instruction at the McAllister Park's upstairs meeting rooms on the upper complex beginning Friday evening and continuing through Saturday (times and dates to be announced).  The clinic will be completed with field instruction on Sunday on the McAllister Park Little League Fields.

Cost is $25.00 per person taking the umpire training class.  The cost will include the 2012 Baseball Rulebook, 2012 Softball Rulebook and the Umpire Training Manual as well as lunch being furnished on Saturday.  Please note that there will be no refund or prorating if you do not complete or attend all of the training session.

Payment must be made in cash or check on the 1st day of the clinic upon check-in.

Please call Bruce Marburger at 210-386-9816 to reserve your spot for the clinic as there is a limit on the number of trainees that may attend.  (Note: there will be no refunds for those who do not complete the training seminar.)

March and April, 2012 - Inter-League Meetings

The District will conduct various Inter-League Meetings during this period to assist leagues in forming the needed inter-leagues for the 2012 season.

Please contact the District Office if your league needs to inter-league any division of baseball and/or softball so we can include your league in the upcoming schedules.

Inter-Leagues are allowed under Little League Regulations to allow leagues to offer all divisions of baseball and softball even when enrollment and does not allow a league to have enough teams to put on the program alone.

Inter-Leagues allow adjoining leagues to enter into agreements with the assistance of the District Office and under required guidelines whereby those leagues may combine and have enough players and teams to offer a program that is fun and fair to all involved.

 It should be noted that there are required guidelines and regulation that must be followed.  No inter-league agreements are allowed unless approved by the District Administrator and Little League Baseball.

May, 2012 - District Meeting to Draw for Pairings for annual City Tournaments and District All-Star Tournaments

This District Meeting is organized and designed to give each League President the opportunity to participate and draw for pairings on the tournament playing schedule for his/her Little League.

 

This meeting is a must attend meeting for League Presidents and District Staff

NOTE:  Each Team MUST Bring Two (2) Copies of their Printed and Signed Affidavits.  (NO HANDWRITTEN COPIES WILL BE ACCEPTED)

 

Following is a Schedule for the Annual City Tournament Managers/Coaches Meetings.

Note:  Each Team participating MUST attend this meeting and must present to the Tournament Director two (2) copies of his/her signed and typed City Tournament Affidavit Form.  (NO HAND WRITTEN COPIES WILL BE ACCEPTED)

6:00 PM       Little League Minor Baseball

6:00 PM       Little League Baseball Major

7:00 PM       Junior and Senior League Baseball

8:00 PM       Little League Softball Minor & Little League Major Softball

9:00 PM       Junior & Senior League Softball

We will review City Tournament Rules and applicable Little League Tournament Rules.  Note:  This Meeting is Mandatory for each team.

June 8th (Friday) thru June 14th (Thursday), 2012

City Tournaments for 2012

 

If your league is going to participate in these tournaments, please use the above dates to assure that your league has finished its regular season in these divisions.

City Tournaments for following divisions:

Little League Minor Baseball, Major League Baseball, Junior League Baseball, Senior League Baseball, Little League Minor Softball, Junior League Softball and Senior League Softball.

These tournaments are designed to be fun tournaments and the format is the league champions of each division play for bragging rights as the District Champ of the City Tournament for that division.

There are City Tournament Rules that detail all the special rules for these special games tournaments, those rules will be posted prior to the tournaments on the District Website.

Tournament Teams for all divisions may be announced on this date. There is no waiver allowed for this announce date under Little League Regulations.

League Presidents to bring ALL completed and one (1) signed copy and one (1) electronic copy of the All-Star Tournament Affidavits along with Team Books containing all supporting documents required for certification to ______________________________________________.

Please bring the above items between the hours of 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

Note:  Please assure that the All-Star Affidavits are complete, print one copy and bring the one printed copy with all signatures required. 

 Bring an electronic copy of each affidavit on a USB drive or CD/DVD.  Bring each Team Book containing all required documentation required for certification.

June 19th  reserved for  Northwest Little League, Northside Suburban Little League and Columbia Little League

June 20th reserved for Greater Helotes Little League, McAllister Park Little League, Greater Northeast Little League and Alamo Heights Little League

Manager/Coaches Meeting for District All-Star Tournaments

Following is a Schedule for the Annual District Tournament Managers/Coaches Meetings.

Note:  Each Team participating MUST attend this meeting and must  bring equipment  to be used during the tournament (do not bring bats as these will be check at the tournament sites for each game.)

09:30 AM      9-10 & 10-11 Year Old Softball and Little League Softball

11:00 AM      9-10 & 10-11 Year Old Baseball and Junior & Senior League Softball

12:30 PM      Little League Baseball & Junior & Senior Baseball

We will review Ground Tournament Rules and applicable Little League Tournament Rules.  Note:  This Meeting is Mandatory for each team and is most important since there are some major changes to tournament rules for 2012.

District Tournament Dates for 2012

 

Some District Tournaments will have start dates of June 27th (Wednesday) 2012.

The smaller divisions with less teams may start later.

District Tournament Schedules will be posted under the Link "Tournaments" once pairings are drawn by the League Presidents at the annual Tournament Meeting in May, 2012.

PLEASE USE THE DATE OF JUNE 27TH FOR YOUR LEAGUES PLANNING PURPOSES.

The number of teams in each division will dictate which divisions need to start early.

Some District Tournaments will have start dates of June 27th (Wednesday) 2012.  PLEASE USE THIS DATE FOR YOUR LEAGUE'S PLANNING PURPOSES.

All Leagues should concluded all regular season play no later than June 15th or 14 days prior to the first tournament start date.
